All right, so that explains it.
What could be more perfect than this? The Dems are doing everything they can to try to stop Sinclair Broadcasting from showing the anti-Kerry documentary, Stolen Honor.
An angry and worried John Kerry claims Sinclair Broadcasting will violate federal broadcasting rules if it shows the documentary “Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal.”
In a letter released Friday the Kerry campaign made clear it wants to stop the film from being broadcast on television.
Ah yes, the Left, the party that claims to be in favor of free speech. They’re in favor of all free speech—as long as it supports them.
For the Dems, free speech that supports Kerry is good:
Democrats don’t seem to mind very much that favorite son Michael Moore’s anti-Bush sclockumentary “Fahrenheit 9/11” was released in thousands of theaters, has arrived on pay-per-view and that Moore has entered into negotiations to have his movie aired on national TV, all pre-election.
But free speech that opposes Kerry? They don’t want you to hear that:
Eighteen Democratic senators, along with the Democratic National Committee, have demanded that the Federal Election Commission forbid Sinclair from broadcasting “Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal” because they say the film amounts to an illegal in-kind political donation to the campaign of President Bush.
Any free speech that doesn’t support them, they’re in favor of shutting down, by threats if necessary:
Earlier in the day, [Kerry] campaign spokesman Chad Clanton had warned, “Listen – they better look out there at Sinclair Broadcasting. ... They’ve stirred up a lot of hatred. ... I think they’re going to regret doing this. They better hope we don’t win.”
Hyman said Clanton’s words “certainly sounded like a threat” and that was cause for widespread concern.
It sounds like a threat all right—it sounds like a threat from a cheesy movie. “They’re going to regret doing this!” It would be funny if it wasn’t so fascistic. That’s the Kerry campaign, claiming that if they get into office, they’re going to use the power of office to harm a network that presented a documentary that opposed their candidate. Welcome to Cuba!
So far we still have freedom of speech in this country. The FCC refused the request from the Dems to halt the airing.
And let me point out, the Democrats aren’t worried about Republicans seeing this film. They’re worried about Democrats seeing it.
More and more folks who have been thinking of voting for Kerry may find out what sort of guy he is, and are likely to be indignant that such a candidate was put forward by their own leaders.
Want to know what the Left is working so hard to keep you from seeing?
In “Stolen Honor” you will hear former POWs tell their bone-chilling stories of their brutal lives as prisoners of war in North Vietnam.
You will hear how these POWs suffered as their Communist torturers read them John Kerry’s words accusing American soldiers of atrocities, including the killing of innocent babies.
Like John Kerry, these evil torturers demanded the POWs confess to Kerry’s “war crimes” allegations.
Unlike John Kerry, these men would never denounce the United States.
In “Stolen Honor” you will find out how John Kerry’s actions helped to extend the Vietnam War and continue the suffering of our men.
These surviving American heroes and their families reveal how Kerry betrayed them then and now.
For the first time and without media censorship and editing they are speaking out in “Stolen Honor”.
They are speaking out against the lies, false testimony and distortions made by a young John Kerry.
After viewing this film you will have little doubt about why John Kerry doesn’t want you to see it.
I’m asking for your vote for President Bush.
