As I’ve noted previously, the U.S. Government is a balance of powers, not rule by judges. The legislative branch is trying to take over by ruling that the Constitution means whatever they feel like, whenever they feel like it. The balance of power must be asserted. Serious thought is being put into the correct way to do this. From Phyllis Schlafly:
Congress and the president should not pass the buck to judges in black robes and hide behind their skirts when they make outrageous decisions. Here are some ways Congress can start to restore representative government.
– Congress should withdraw jurisdiction from the federal courts over the Pledge of Allegiance, the Ten Commandments, and the Defense of Marriage Act. Two bills to do this (the Akin Bill and the Hostettler Bill) easily passed the House last fall but were ignored by the Senate, and now it is time to make them law.
– Congress should withdraw jurisdiction over court challenges to the Boy Scouts of America, a federally chartered organization, which the American Civil Liberties Union is currently trying to ban from public schools. The ACLU is seeking activist judges who will rule it a violation of the First Amendment for the Boy Scouts to pledge allegiance to God and country and commit to keeping themselves “morally straight.”
– Congress should repeal the 1976 law that permits activist judges to grant lavish attorney’s fees to the ACLU when it succeeds in banning the Boy Scouts, the Ten Commandments or a cross that has existed on public property for decades.
– Both Houses of Congress should hold hearings about remedies for supremacist decisions. Congress should bring defiant judges before the American people to answer questions about their worst rulings.
The Mexican army is escorting those attempting to cross over the U.S. border illegally – including known drug-runners – to areas not patrolled by the Minuteman Project near Naco, Ariz., say Border Patrol sources and other officials including a U.S. congressman.
...Border Patrol sources say the Mexican army recently moved about 1,000 troops to the Agua Prieta region, just south of where the Minutemen are. These troops, the sources say, are diverting all of the illegal alien and drug-smuggling traffic away from the Minutemen.

Judge Smacks Down Andy Rooney:
...Andy Rooney began his testimony Monday by questioning the wording of the oath to tell the truth.
The CBS newsman later got a lecture from the judge for trying to interrogate a lawyer while on the witness stand.
“No, no, no, Mr. Rooney,” said federal Judge Colleen McMahon, her head in her hands. “The first rule is the witness never gets to ask any questions … even if he’s a journalist.”
Yesterday I asked, What’s Sharon thinking? with regard to the forced pullout of Israeli citizens from Gaza. Today we see this report:
If Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza comes off successfully, then, “I think we’ll have a different frame of mind” more conducive to pursuing peace, Bush said. “To me, that’s where the attention of the world ought to be, on Gaza.”
“A different frame of mind?” From the terrorists who kill little children on school busses?
But there will be no progress after the Gaza pullout unless “the Palestinians completely fulfill their obligations of stopping terror attacks, waging a war against terror, destroying the terror infrastructure and reforming their security services,” Sharon said.
“I have no intent, in no way, of progressing with the road map … until they fulfill all their obligations,” he said.
Can they be thinking that if Israel pulls out from Gaza and terrorist attacks continue, world opinion will turn against the terrorists? That seems like a doomed strategy. As Daniel Pipes notes:
After the Oslo round of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations (1993-2001) ended in disaster, many Israelis looked back on Oslo’s faulty assumptions, their own naïveté, and resolved not to repeat that bitter experience. Israelis awoke from the delusion that giving the Palestinians land, money, and arms in return for airy-fairy and fraudulent promises would lessen Palestinian hostility. They realized that, to the contrary, this imbalance enhanced Palestinian rejection of the very existence of the Jewish state.
The only way I can make sense of this, is that Bush and Sharon plan to get tougher with the terrorists after the Gaza pullout. But that’s sheer speculation. I’m very concerned that they will do nothing of the kind.
Coddling terrorists is like playing with fire. It’s like a little child playing with a pack of matches—or better yet, it’s like an adult letting a little child play with a pack of matches and saying, “It’s good to encourage the child. Any fires he lights can be kept in control.” Then the house burns down.
The only safe thing to do with terrorism is to oppose it, vigorously and decisively.
Donald Trump discusses Dan Rather with Howard Stern:
Howard then asked if Trump had told Rather to his face “You are a scumbag.”
“Many Times,” replied Trump. “I would see him in (New York Yankee Owner) George Steinbrenner’s box – I’d give him the finger about two feet away. People that were with me couldn’t believe what was happening.”
“What would he do?” asked Stern.
“He would do nothing. Then he’d call and say ‘Donald, let’s get together, let’s have lunch’ ... and I’d say ‘No, Thank you,’”
Evidently there’s a museum in Pittsburgh that specializes in hanging anti-American propaganda on the walls and calling it art. Teresa funds it:
Former first lady-wannabe Teresa Heinz has donated $4 million to a Pittsburgh museum that frequently showcases artwork depicting U.S. human rights abuses – including exhibits on lynchings in America, the Rodney King beating and the Abu Ghraib prison scandal.
She’s been financing this museum since it opened in 1994:
When it opened in May 1994, the Warhol received a $5 million grant from the Vira Heinz Endowment and the Howard Heinz Endowment, which are chaired by Mrs. Heinz.
Teresa appears to love doing things that are bad for her husband John Kerry’s political career:
The Warhol Museum’s Abu Ghraib exhibit, titled “Inconvenient Evidence,” prompted howls of protest from veterans groups when it opened last September.
“It is a disservice to all the veterans who served,” complained Joseph Dugan, president of the Soldiers & Sailors National Military Museum & Memorial. Dugan added that he thought the exhibition’s concept was “appalling.”
