This is great. The Bush administration has stated that GWB will not deal with any officials Hamas gets elected.
WASHINGTON – The Bush administration, rebuffing the suggestions of some European officials, will continue to refuse to have contact with the militant group Hamas and its leaders even if some of those leaders win elections in Palestinian areas, a senior administration official said Monday.
The official said that a ban on contacts with Hamas was required because the group was listed by the United States as a terrorist organization, and that the United States would not follow a practice of some European countries of engaging with the group’s political wing even if it also had an armed wing carrying out attacks on civilians.
“The president has said that Hamas is on the terrorism list, and it’s there for a reason,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. “We don’t recognize that you have changed your behavior just because a group is running candidates as well as suicide bombers.”
This is exactly correct. Nations run by killers—who incidentally are likely to threaten to harm those who would vote against them— are dangerous to free people everywhere.
Naturally—okay, I’m shocked by this even though it seems par for the course by this time—the NY Times appears to disapprove. Here’s their headline: “U.S. to Shun Hamas Members, Even if Democratically Elected.”
Question: Why should the NY Times show such support for terrorists?
Answer: Because over the decades the goal of MSM has become, to attack the U.S. government, regardless of the facts, and regardless of what is good for the American people.
After using it to avoid the so-called nuclear option, some Dems are already seeking to renege on their end of the filibuster deal.
MSM is starting to report on Dean’s revolting statements, with articles today in the Washington Post and CNN.
New Fall Styles to Show Less Skin:
“Teens are realizing that having an unstructured, unorthodox lifestyle didn’t work well for previous generations so they’re becoming more conservative with their clothing and politics,” said Pam Gunderson, who leads the Challenge Girls Club of Greater Seattle
More conservative politically? That would be a welcome development.
OH, FOR GOD’S SAKE. Congress is demanding that New York return $44 million in aid to 911 victims, not because the money was spent incorrectly—everyone agrees it was spent properly—but because of a technicality in the way in which the money was distributed:
The GAO found the state was not entitled to distribute the $44 million through other agencies. The state used the other agencies because officials said it would be a quicker method of getting aid to victims.
This is pathetic, especially you think of all the hundreds of millions, and billions, of dollars that Congress blows through in the most irresponsible, wasteful manner possible. Maybe the American people should demand that Congress refund us all of our misspent tax dollars.
CALIF. MEN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED TERROR LINKS. You’d think finding guys like these would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. I’m impressed the FBI knew about them and knew when they were attempting to enter the U.S.
Dr. Zin has an article from World Magazine that expresses the following opinion:
Seventy percent of today’s Iranians are below the age of 30 and have scant memory of the anger that spawned a U.S.-hating Islamic theocracy in 1979. These Iranians are not simply against their own regime; they are probably the only broadly pro-American population in the Middle East.
