"We're really blessed in this country to have the Judeo-Christian tradition of wanting to love each other and help each other have better lives and to enjoy life and be good to each other. As opposed to the tradition of some Islamofascist localities where they do the reverse - sending their own children off to be blown up."

It’s a Propaganda War - So Why Let Al-Jazeera Broadcast Here?

    Iraqi-American Fawaz Saraf emails:

Al-Jazeera opened one of their evening news broadcasts yesterday with the news of the "Martyrdom" of the leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq. This was followed by an hour long Al-Jazeera style "documentary" about the life of this murderer (the documentary talks about how Zarqawi entered Iraq to defend Moslem land and fight against the American invaders). Now this question: Why is Al-Jazeera, for all practical purposes a mouthpiece for a terrorist organization, allowed a presence in the US?

Terrorists persist only because we don't use our ability to decimate them; they depend on our self-restraint. From Roger L. Simon:

Given that the War on Terror exists more than anywhere in the realm of propaganda, the role of the Press Secretary is almost as crucial as the Defense Secretary.

In a war that is fought in the realm of propaganda, letting Al-Jazeera broadcast here, is comparable to letting terrorists maintain a military base on our soil.

Info from Yesterday’s Raids Leads to 39 New Raids on Terrorists

    From AP:

[U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell] said troops carried out 39 raids overnight in which troops "picked up things like memory sticks, some hard drives" that would allow American forces to begin dismantling al-Zarqawi's al-Qaida in Iraq.

Those raids were based on 17 simultaneous raids U.S. troops staged Wednesday near Baqouba, the capital of Diyala province. The region is in the heartland of the Sunni Arab-led insurgency and has seen a recent rise in sectarian violence. Baqouba is 35 miles northeast of Baghdad.

He said the latest information was helping U.S. forces unravel the source of al-Qaida's weapons and financing.

Terrorists around the world are feeling the effects of this. Per Donald Sensing (via Instapundit): "I think that more and more Muslims will decide that Ashraf al-Akhras is right: Allah is in the game, but not on al Qaeda's side."
