"We're really blessed in this country to have the Judeo-Christian tradition of wanting to love each other and help each other have better lives and to enjoy life and be good to each other. As opposed to the tradition of some Islamofascist localities where they do the reverse - sending their own children off to be blown up."

The Cassini mission shows the tremendous possibilities available to the entire world when governemnts and citizens act together. Would that we would be able to set aside our differences, and focus on the common thread of our humanity.
I mean, we shot a space vehicle 2.2 billion miles, and landed a VW bug-sized probe, which had effectively no steering mechanism, onto a frozen rock. Amazing engineering. Also, instead of a couple minutes of tranmissions, Cassini received about an hour and a half of data from Huygens.
Unlike the Berkeley demonstrators, these JPL, and European, propellor-heads make me proud to be human.
Check the link for mission updates and some cool pictures.
