Ann Coulter Cuts University Speech Short Amid Jeers:
STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Conservative columnist Ann Coulter cut short a speech at the University of Connecticut amid boos and jeers, and decided to hold a question-and-answer session instead.
This is perfectly ordinary behavior for many Liberals. As I noted in this previous post, it is common for speakers to be shouted down on college campuses. And at the recent Liberty Film Festival, I witnessed two Liberals rush the stage, shouting at speaker David Horowitz, "You have no right to speak!"
It is time for those of the Left to stand up for free speech in America, and say that such tactics are unacceptable.
Update 12-16-05: Here's the text of a new post on this subject. I'll duplicate it here so as to have all entries on this subject available in one article.
This report on demonstrations against the execution of Tookie Williams included the following photo and comment:
One of the standard activities of radicals at protests these days is to physically cover up the messages of people they don't agree with. At the vigil, the socialists did everything they could to cover up the Christians' signs. And, as you can see here, the media joined in: a sound technician from one of the leftist radio stations used his boom-mike to try to cover up the Christian protest sign. Using a microphone to stifle free speech -- could you get more ironic?
So can any of you Coultermaniacs make sense of this claim from her latest column?
The box office numbers for this year's favorite, "Brokeback Mountain," are more jealously guarded than the nuclear codes in the president's black box. Hollywood liberals want the government to release everything we know about al-Zarqawi, but refuse to release the number of people who have seen "Brokeback Mountain."
The box office numbers for "Brokeback Mountain" are widely available, as are those of every other movie that plays in theaters. What on earth is she talking about?
Honestly, does she just make this stuff up?
That's what I figured.
And yet somehow I know this fabrication will not in any way hurt her credibility among the Coulter faithful.
Was there such an outcry over Farenheit 911?

Here are some excerpts from a letter purportedly sent by the Democratic leadership to Disney concerning the upcoming mini series: The Path to 911 (For the full text please refer to americablog.com)
These people are astounding! They're the very ones upholding 'free speech' and supposedly against censorship. It is because of these people that We've been inundated with liberal bias and 'PC' on TV for over three decades.
It is evident they are only supporting that which bolsters their own agenda.
I'm not a fan of Disney (for a myriad of reasons), but as a native New Yorker who is currently living a couple of miles from the Pentagon, I'll be watching The Path to 911. I urge you to do the same.
Let's then discern and discuss whether it is accurate or not. After all, isn't that what we're supposed to do in a free society?
Ann Coulter is simply brilliant. I love her take no prisoners approach. She just chews up and buries liberals and their "camel jockey"(her words) allies.
The left works this way. The intellectuals sit back on their ivory thrones and criticize. Meanwhile, they use their brainwashed brown shirt footsoldiers to harass, use violence and scream at any attempt for non-liberals to get their views across. The left hate free speech, except where they can use it as a tool to overthrow democratic freedoms (violence and intimidation are techniques perfected by the SS and Mussolini's thugs)
Of course they deny will deny it. I expect that.
