From a comment posted by Olah Chadasha, of the Greetings from the French Hill weblog:
If, as Al Gore claims, humans and their big evil industrial outputs are the cause of global warming, how is it that there was an ICE AGE before humans existed?!? Did the industrial revolution start a bit earlier than history recorded? Furthermore, how was it that the earth warmed enough to end the Ice Age again BEFORE humans were driving their evil SUVs?!?
Can some-one, ahhem I’m talking to you Mr. Gore, please explained to me how that happened? If humans, with their evil fossil fuels, Humvees, and evil corporations are the main culprits of global warming then an Ice Age and then Ice Age Melting could NEVER have happened. According to his and the UN (Useless Neanderthals) claims, the earth’s temperature’s rise could not happen on its own. So, what happened? Did Haliburton build a time machine, travel back in time, and cause an Ice Age and then melted it a few million years later?
Answers… anybody?
Tom, that's all well and good, but it means nothing. Absolutely nothing! Notice that they say hottest on record. The record only started in the mid-19th century. Last time I checked, there was a hell of a lot of weather before then. And, if they have no concrete history of data to compare today's weather with than all their statistics don't really matter. There's a little saying that goes, "Statistics never lie, and liers use statistics". It is known, based on historical records and descriptions, that there was a mini Ice Age and global warming during the Middle Ages in Europe, again, BEFORE the industrial revolution. How do global warming theorists explain that? If we're so interested in statistics, here's another one. Big bad evil cars only account for LESS THAN 5% of the total carbon dioxide emissions. Cows, plants, and animal life account for almost 90% of methane and carbon dioxide emissions. Methane is 28 times worse for the environment than carbon dioxide. I guess we'll be getting ready to eat a lot of steak soon, all in the name of saving the environment of course. Sorry PETA. Planet trumps animal rights.
Tom, that article explains nothing, and it certainly doesn't answer my question. It also doesn't answer the question of how 20 years ago, the same time they say that global warming accelerated, these same scientists were screaming Global COOLING only to see them shift almost over-night to Global WARMING. How is that possible, on a scientific basis? Could it even remotely even possibly be because there are weather patterns to our planet just like there are in every state. Could it even remotely or even possibly be because the earth is cooling and warming all the time, and human beings play a MINUTE part in that pattern? No chance? Not even a tiny bit possibility? I wonder how the Grand Canyon came to be... I mean, it was filled with water once and now it's a dry waste land. Must be Global Warming... Oh yeah, and it's still SNOWING in the mid-west! Yeah, that must be the LOCALIZED Global Warming I've been hearing about...
