In 1998 prominent Democrats, including John Kerry, wrote this letter to President Bill Clinton:
We are writing to express our concern over recent developments in Iraq.
Last February, the Senate was working on a resolution supporting military action if diplomacy did not succeed in convincing Saddam Hussein to comply with the United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning the disclosure of weapons of mass destruction.
...we urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraq sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destructions programs.
As shown in this letter, John F. Kerry himself urged Clinton to take military action against Iraq to eliminate the danger posed by Hussein’s WMDs. It appears that the Left is only pretending to believe that Bush lied on the subject, since they themselves said the exact same thing.
