"We're really blessed in this country to have the Judeo-Christian tradition of wanting to love each other and help each other have better lives and to enjoy life and be good to each other. As opposed to the tradition of some Islamofascist localities where they do the reverse - sending their own children off to be blown up."

Latest Designs for the Freedom Tower: Replace 2 Towers… With 4!

    Here are illustrations:

I've been following the development of designs for the Freedom Tower in previous posts.

I like these designs a lot. They look inspiring, and they have excellent aesthetics. And the plan of replacing the original two towers, with four new ones, accomplishes two goals. First, it avoids the "hit me again" sense that could come from just duplicating what was there before. Second, it shows that far from being impressed by the terrorists, we have doubled the number of original buildings, in the new design. It tells the enemies of America that they have accomplished nothing.

I also like that no buildings will be built on the original sites of the Towers. I understand that there is a group out there trying to have the Towers rebuilt as they were and in the same spot. I understand where they're coming from, but I just don't agree with them. I believe new sky-scrapers should be rebuilt, but I think the actual ground of the Towers should remain a living monument and final resting place to the almost 3,000 people that died on that fateful day 5 years ago. As long as they're not planning to make the desecration of the lost ones' memory with the aweful and disgraceful museum they were planning, I say start building already!

In addition to sending a strong message to terrorists, this project has the potential to put American architecture back on the map. The design boasts extremely ambitious security features, and the Lower Manhattan Development Coporation claims it will also be “world-class model of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.” The Freedom Tower will also be among the tallest buildings in the world when completed, and this combined with state-of-the-art safety and energy technology could do wonders for American architecture in the eyes of the rest of the world. The United States has lagged behind Europe in terms of sustainable design for years. Maximization of natural lighting and ventilation, non-toxic and recycled building materials, recycling of rainwater; all of these techniques are widely used outside the US. American designs could benefit greatly from these practices in the long run, and it is refreshing to see them used in such a high-profile project. Hopefully this will start a new trend. The tower’s light-up spire, on the other hand, could be a disaster waiting to happen. This intended “beacon” could easily end up looking tacky, but if it is done right the effect could be quite beautiful.

Thanks for this great info, emwen. Is there a link for these details about the Freedom Tower?

yes, I had trouble posting it in the text field yesterday, but it seems to be working now: http://www.renewnyc.com/plan_des_dev/wtc_site/new_design_plans/Freedom_Tower/

"It tells the enemies of America that they have accomplished nothing."... Really...? Is that why your nation is always on alert, and the security at airports and borders have been restructured to insure the safety of the good old USA. Hey, what ever helps you sleep at night. Just remember this... "Where there’s a will, there’s a way"

They could have at least evacuated the towers before demolishing them. Why insite a war at the expense of your own people (other than for selfish and downright evil reasons)? It's obvious to me why they brought the towers down.

Yeah! Build as high as you can... The height of these towers is the synonym of the American arrogance. Don't cry if such awful acts happen again!

If I were American, I would have built a monument to remember, having humble and human dimension.

Evacuated them before they demolished them, are you one of these ####### idiots that think the government took the buildings down, why dont you ####### die, or at least move away, #### head.

If you believe what it says in the official Comission Report, you need to get your head examined.  The world governent, not the US governement, did it to push their war cause and kill both american troops and innocent muslims overseas at the price of crippling the economy with high oil prices and giving Bush dictatorship-like power to do and say anything he wants without the approval of Congress.  It was an inside job, get that through your head already.

Timmypoo, at least you make life interesting.  After bin Laden told the rest of the Islamic world to shut up, because he was proud of his demonic 19 and that this was just a wedding for them.  Wouldn't it be a hoot to see what really happened to those 19 heros the moment after shouting Allah Akbar, Allah is Beautiful...and crashing into the WTC or a Pennsylvania field?  Expecting 72 virgins and as I recently learned, 28 "Scented Boys," adding to a neat 100.  Those clever Islamics, Allah just sees so much doesn't he?  When Muhammod wanted to marry his daughter in law, Allah fixed that, "No probleminski."  Same for marrying a 9 year old, and telling his so called wives to "Hushinski" about him sleeping with the servants.  Just what a great religion.  A real roadmap for evil.

So what did it look like for Muhammod Atta and the rest, was it the fire and brimstone thing?  A life devoted to fanatism and evil, just like the Blind Sheik and countless millions of other Islamics.  The Blind Sheik devoted his life to "Quranic Studies?"  Wow, what enlightnment.  What garbage.  Made that Blind Sheik such a great guy did it not?

Timmypoo, you need to become acquainted with Rosie O'Donnell, you two have a lot of stuff to talk about, maybe even marital bliss.  It is amazing that every now and then an Islamic will, on this blog, say something like "How do we know that Muslims did this, wasn't it an inside job, or did Mussad do it?"  I mean, there is just no response for something this far out.  What was it that someone said, "Do not argue with a fool, as others may not be able to tell you apart?"

I am amazed at how ignorant I was about Islam before 9/11.  I thought, "surely there are mostly good people in Islam, as is true of Catholics, Babptists, etc."  So I start reading book after book, and google after google.  (So should you, do not take my word for anything.  You have freedom to search and learn, use it.)  And this religion just gets worse and worse, just evil and horror and slaughter continuously since 613 and muhammod.  Just when I think that maybe Smyrna, Turkey in 1922 and the Armenian genocide leading up to that (shhhhhhh, don't want to offend Islamics by telling the truth, shhhhhhhhhhhhh!) was the epitome of evil.  Then, motivated by Mumbai, I google "Islamic Conquest of India," and get this (try it yourself) http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/32812 Now read it!  Read "The population of India declined by 80 million from 1000 to 1525 due to Islamics."  "Hills made of Hindu skulls made by Islamics."  Read it yourself, you cannot make this stuff up (well, the Islamics do try, adept liars, something the Quran taught them, a la al Taqiyya, yes, history's best liars, murdurers, fanatics, all thanks to the Quran).  This religion, or whatever it is, is doomed, as there can be no critical inquiry as to the meaning of the Quran, thanks to the Quran, and the Islamic world enslaved by this book.  And history's best at being continuously and very selectively being offended.  I understand the olympics do not even have a competition on being offended, the gold medal is just given to Islam year after year.

It is if God and Beelzebub (Satan, the Beast, ...) are up there playing a chess game, Satan gets the Islamics and oil, God gets the rest.  Everytime the rest passes go, they must take a big gulp of Stupid.  How else can you explain the Democrats, the Spanish who by golly went to the polls and showed those Islamic terrorists who bombed the trains (you Islamics, don't mess with these Spaniards, they will fix you, just back off or you will be sorry), the French cheese eating surrender monkeys, the Belgiums who cannot observe a moment of silence as it may offend Islamics....?

"Islamics understand that their most powerful secret weapon is the Liberal mindset, yet at the same time they despise it." (Defeating Jihad, How the West May Still Win in Spite of Itself, by Serge Trifkovic)

Well der alleswisser, you mention a few things here that are spot on and a few I'd qestion.  Nevertheless, you are absolutely right about the advertising and campaigning that goes on over in certain Islamic nations promoting the hatred of Americans and specifically their religious ways.

What we need to realize is that the New World Order is becoming a reality, and the devil is particualarly interested in keeping the truth from people.  Forget about what goes on behind closed doors, I'm talking about receiving Christ as one's savior.  That very remark will soon be outlawed and seen as a profession of blasphemy and treason against one's own people...OH WAIT IT ALREADY HAS!

Did you know that in an Islamic nation it is very much ok and even acceptable and encouraged to convert Christians to Muslim, but converting Muslim to Christian is completely illegal?  This is the kind of litigative bull**** that has been ripping this world apart ever since man was deceived, and it's only going to get worse.  Also, I realize that many Christians think the same way about their own beliefs and they are no better.

    Anyhoo,

I have seen the evidences and stories on both sides, I'm not one of those radical one-sided biased Christians.  The facts of the 9/11 attacks being planned are obvious and clear.  You can't deny the countless eye-witness accounts declaring many explosions of bombs going off inside the buildings prior, during, and after the plane crashes; you cannot deny the demolotion squibs coming out the sides of the buildings during thier collapsing and the fact that they collapsed at freefall speed (which is scientifically impossible if it were a pancake collapse as described in the official Comission Report); you cannot deny the fact that concrete reinforced tempered steel has a melting point of 2400 degrees fahrenheit, while the fires (which were oxygen starved (white smoke)) burnerd at only 1250 degrees making it impossible for them to even buckle let alone melt the 47 central steel support columns and thousands of girders holding up the floors; and you CANNOT DENY that WTC 1 and 2 are the only buildings in human history to ever collapse due to fire, especially in the manner that they did.

It was a planned demolition to instill fear and hate toward the Muslims to promote the globalization of the New World Order, AND so that they could erase the criminal records against Enron and other corporate giants, AND clear out the area for the new bulidings depictied on this page.  They also needed someone to blame, and the plan was to blame our fuel suppliers (respectively) so that they could justify blowing the gas price beyond sane limits which would grab society by the balls and further promote the hate.  I urge anyone reading this to read the message of the gospel written in the first 4 books of the New Testament of the Bible.  God has not forgotten or forsaken us, but Jesus will not be sent for his believers until there is no one left to believe, and it's things like 9/11 that get us ever closer to that day.  *goes to sing a hymn and pray*

i feel that the world trade centre should be rebuild again on the same site with a height of 2,250 feet high.why because you have to show the enmey that they can not stop you from building america . show them that if they try to distroy america we will rebuild it. it's a shame that no one want to fight back. rebuild the world trade centre. rebuild.
