MUSLIMS FOR AMERICA. This is something we need to see a lot more of. From this organization’s web site:
And to our friends at MPAC, PMU, CAIR, AMA, AMC, and AMT – we hope you can hear this message.
May Allah Bless America and this Earth!
An Islam that worships love, rather than jihad, killing, etc., might be able to make a successful contribution to American life.
Hi, Mavenette. I think the site started out as Muslims for Bush, and is now changing to Muslims for America.
I'm looking forward to reading your series of posts from Egypt.
Without even looking at the site, I guessed that whoever created MFA must be a Pakistani-American. Unlike Arab immigrants, Pakistanis and Indian immigrants are more likely to assimilate into American society.
I find it interesting that the title of Mr. Hasan's website is "Muslims for America," but then the URL is http://www.muslimsforbush.com. Is he implying that Muslim-Americans who didn't vote for Bush are anti-American & unpatriotic?
In his statement regarding the Quran desecration allegations, he says:
As confirmed by journalist Robin Wright, it was under President Bush’s leadership that, two years ago, the Pentagon had already established rules for the way the Quran should be handled.
Mr. Hasan obviously didn't do his research properly. The DOD document regarding Quran handling protocal was not issued until Jan. 2003, one full year after the first detainees arrived at Camp X-ray in Jan. 2002.
