"We're really blessed in this country to have the Judeo-Christian tradition of wanting to love each other and help each other have better lives and to enjoy life and be good to each other. As opposed to the tradition of some Islamofascist localities where they do the reverse - sending their own children off to be blown up."

Newsweek: Global Warming Studies are “Inherently Untrustworthy”

Newsweek puts the hammer on global warming concerns:

What most commentators-and many scientists-seem to miss is that the only thing we can say with certainly about climate is that it changes. The earth is always warming or cooling by as much as a few tenths of a degree a year; periods of constant average temperatures are rare. Looking back on the earth's climate history, it's apparent that there's no such thing as an optimal temperature-a climate at which everything is just right. The current alarm rests on the false assumption not only that we live in a perfect world, temperaturewise, but also that our warming forecasts for the year 2040 are somehow more reliable than the weatherman's forecast for next week.

A warmer climate could prove to be more beneficial than the one we have now. Much of the alarm over climate change is based on ignorance of what is normal for weather and climate. There is no evidence, for instance, that extreme weather events are increasing in any systematic way, according to scientists at the U.S. National Hurricane Center, the World Meteorological Organization and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (which released the second part of this year's report earlier this month). Indeed, meteorological theory holds that, outside the tropics, weather in a warming world should be less variable, which might be a good thing.

In many other respects, the ill effects of warming are overblown. Sea levels, for example, have been increasing since the end of the last ice age. When you look at recent centuries in perspective, ignoring short-term fluctuations, the rate of sea-level rise has been relatively uniform (less than a couple of millimeters a year). There's even some evidence that the rate was higher in the first half of the twentieth century than in the second half. Overall, the risk of sea-level rise from global warming is less at almost any given location than that from other causes, such as tectonic motions of the earth's surface.

Many of the most alarming studies rely on long-range predictions using inherently untrustworthy climate models, similar to those that cannot accurately forecast the weather a week from now. Interpretations of these studies rarely consider that the impact of carbon on temperature goes down-not up-the more carbon accumulates in the atmosphere. Even if emissions were the sole cause of the recent temperature rise-a dubious proposition-future increases wouldn't be as steep as the climb in emissions.

i agree with newsweek on this subject.first of all what a lot of scientist's won't mention is that we are living at the end of an ice age period.al gore started this global warming hoax and he's a politician, not a scientist.(stick to what you know al).everybody knows the only true thing a politician is very good at is lying.al gore is a hardcore enviromentalist and would stretch anything he could to extreme to put the fear of [THE APOCOLYPSE] into whoever is foolish or uneducated enough to believe it.and there are a lot of people who fall into this catagory.any scientist who agrees with this global warming hype probably got a big piece of the money pie that's funding this charade.i wonder what they will come up with when mother nature decides it's time to start back into another ice age?we the people should be more concerned about how we are being lied to by the people who are running this country right into it's own extinction.at least that's my opinion on global warming.

OK, I just need to add something here. I've been asking the most logical question since this global warming FAD began, yet not one other person has asked or answered it. Yes, it is a fad. It's as much as a fad as global COOLING was 20 years ago. How it can go from cooling to warming in only 20 years should set alarm bells off for anyone looking to buy into this garbage, or those worried that there next gas pit stop will make the jet stream start flowing in reverse. Anyways, here's the big question I have for Al Gore and his ilk (I have worse names, but I will digress.):

If, as Al Gore claims, humans and their big evil industrial outputs are the cause of global warming, how is it that there was an ICE AGE before humans existed?!? Did the industrial revolution start a bit earlier than history recorded? Furthermore, how was it that the earth warmed enough to end the Ice Age again BEFORE humans were driving their evil SUVs?!?

Can some-one, ahhem I'm talking to you Mr. Gore, please explained to me how that happened? If humans, with their evil fossil fuels, Humvees, and evil corporations are the main culprits of global warming then an Ice Age and then Ice Age Melting could NEVER have happened. According to his and the UN (Useless Neanderthals) claims, the earth's temperature's rise could not happen on its own. So, what happened? Did Haliburton build a time machine, travel back in time, and cause an Ice Age and then melted it a few million years later?

    Answers... anybody?

Sorry, but I don't get this,

is this website for real? This is a prank right? I mean like Stephen Colbert making fun of nutty republicans by being just over-the-top conservative. Or like this shock-websites, you know like bathtubgirl or lemonparty etc. Everything else would be just plain terrifying. I just refuse to believe that there are human beings on this hemisphere as biased, misinformed and ignorant as that. I just don't believe it. So, I just say, good joke, really funny XD, you almost had me there for a moment.

    Bye,

AO, the article you are commenting on is primarily a quote from Newsweek magazine. Are you familiar with that magazine in your part of Europe?

Olah, I've just quoted your post in a new article.

AO, the EU is one to talk when it comes to global warming. Every country, especially Britain, that has signed the Kyoto Agreement has produced more carbon dioxide per person than before they signed on the dotted line. Yeah, socialism really works....

Olah,it's simply a cycle. The earth is constantly changing. It is a very slow process, but it is a fact.Mother nature will take care of itself. This global warming scandal is a full on attack created by the enviroterrorists to scare people into believing something they(the american public) know nothing about. It seems like special interest groups are getting real wise about using scare tacticts such as this to win support for (A CONVENIENT LIE),which is the only way they can get support for the b.s.they want people to believe.Extremists, i believe they are labeled.Isn't that what they call the islamic terrorists? It's too bad they couldn't just use real proven facts and truths to prove their projects and studies.Al Gore probably did a lot of studying Hitler's use of propoganda to get majority support from Germany's citizens before WWII.Have an open mind and think for yourself.Conformity is what they are counting on.It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
