Abdul Kadir was the imam of a Shia mosque in Guyana. 56-year old Kareem Ibrahim is the imam of one of the two main Shia mosques in Trinidad. This is based at Canefarm in Tacarigua, states the Trinidad Express. He is a father of five children and sells Islamic books.
Another suspected member of the JFK plot, Russell Defreitas, aka "Mohammed", was recorded saying that as a Muslim he believed he would go to paradise for his intended murders. From the U.S. criminal complaint in the case against those accused of planning to blow up JFK airport:
28. During the return drive from JFK, DEFREITAS discussed the extent of the damage they could cause. In particular, DEFREITAS predicted that the plot would result in the destruction of "'the whole of Kennedy," that only a few people would escape and that, due to underground piping, part of Queens would explode. DEFREITAS went on to predict that, as a result of the plot, DEFREITAS and the Source would "get our blessings and our rewards" and "a place in paradise."
This shows that, according to the complaint, Defreitas was motivated by his belief that as a Muslim, he would go to paradise for carrying out this attack.
The first amendment says:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
But Congress shall good and well make laws to shut down people who are trying to kill us. If the Mafia declared itself a religion, with drug dealing and murder as its designated means of going to paradise, would that be a strategy that would prevent their prosecution? Certainly not.
The first amendment, by the way, was just that - the first amendment. It was the first addition to the Constitution. Maybe it needs a little polishing up. A little revision. As in, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of a religion, unless that religion preaches murder as a means of going to paradise."
