"Ohio Men Accused of Plot to Kill Troops in Iraq:"
The Justice Department accused three Ohio men yesterday of plotting to kill U.S. and coalition troops in Iraq, allegedly by seeking to set up a Middle Eastern terrorism camp where insurgents would be trained and equipped.
...The men are accused of spending more than a year downloading militant videos, taking weapons training, and trying to acquire or build explosives. They could face life in prison if convicted of the most serious charge, conspiracy to kill Americans abroad. They are also charged with providing material support to terrorists.
The defendants are Mohammad Zaki Amawi, 26, a citizen of the United States and Jordan; Marwan Othman el-Hindi, 42, of Toledo, a U.S. citizen; and Wassim I. Mazloum, 24, of Toledo, a permanent legal resident who co-owns a Toledo auto dealership with his brother. In addition to the terrorism counts, Amawi is also charged with twice making verbal threats against Bush, court documents show....The indictment and prosecutors allege that the three men discussed how to build and use improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, which have emerged as the biggest threat to U.S. troops battling the insurgency in Iraq. Amawi explicitly stated that he hoped to target the U.S. military with IEDs, according to the government.
A question I've been asking on this site is, What's going on inside the mosques in the U.S.? If the mosques were centers of a sentiment to help the U.S. and all its citizens succeed together, one would expect to see pronouncements from many leaders of these mosques, saying something like, "We hope these men are innocent, but in any case we deplore the actions they are accused of. Such actions are contrary to our teachings." But instead those leaders are silent on this subject. This appears to be evidence that the leaders of those mosques support the actions of which these men are accused.
Let's consider the meaning of the signs displayed by 1,000 Islamists who protested against freedom of speech in our house -- in New York, NY. The following pictures are from the BareKnucklePolitics blog, via Michelle Malkin:

This is a protest threatening "Allah's Wrath", and that "Responsible Editors Must be Punished." There's no mistaking that this crowd opposes the U.S. right to free speech.
They are using the U.S. right to free speech, as a means of attempting to destroy it.
They have no place in this country.
They need to all be identified and thrown out. This is wartime. It would be highly advisable to deport all those who are threatening citizens of the free world in an effort to destroy our freedom.
Now let's look at the third photo, showing a sign saying, "Islam will Dominate." What does this sign mean? It certainly is intended to convey that Islam is incompatible with free speech and that Islam will destroy free speech. It is intended to convey that the Islamists in America will overthrow the U.S. constitution and U.S. law, and replace it with Islamic law, which will, among other things, remove the right to free speech.
BareKnucklePolitics (same link) reports on how this protest was organized:
A group organized by a Muslim leader protests cartoons published by a Danish newspaper, outside the Danish consulate in New York, Friday, Feb. 17, 2006."
So it was put together by "a Muslim leader."
One question I've been looking into on this site is, what's going on inside the mosques? This protest provides powerful evidence that what's going on inside at least one mosque in New York is incitement to oppose U.S. freedom of speech.
These Islamists are not seeking to assimilate into the U.S. culture. They are seeking to do in the U.S. what the Islamists are doing in France and in England. They are trying to destroy our culture.
A week ago I ran the following item:
WHAT'S GOING ON INSIDE THE MOSQUES? One piece of evidence that U.S. mosques are centers of terrorist and jihadist sympathy and activity, is that they won't let us in. Anybody can go into any church and listen, but you can't go into a mosque. What are they hiding?
Several great comments have come in on this.
From Todd:
You can't go inside a Mormon temple either, and people (of the 1880s thru 1940s and beyond) thought that that meant something subversive must be going on. They were wrong, of course.
I mention this just to point out that there may be other reasons that just the implied one. It may be considered by worshipers to be too sacred to be profaned by a non-believer; or it may be certain ceremonies are considered too sacred to be viewed by others. Or it may be that subversive activities/teacher are going on. You just can't tell from that evidence alone.
Be open minded.
Todd's comment reflects the views of many people, and is well worth discussing.
From Olah Chadasha, proprietor of the excellent blog, Greetings from the French Hill:
The Saudis have sponsored over 12,000 mosques that have and will be created within the United States. These mosques are based on the stipulations that only Saudi or Wahhabi trained Immams and clerics head them. Hmmmm… Saudi Arabi and extremism? Nah, that doesn't go together. I would suggest reading the book, Terrorist Hunter, which is a book about a woman who goes under cover to reveal what's going in the Muslim world in the US. The results will shock and amaze your open-mindedness. After that, I would suggest going to Palestinian Media Watch. Oh and, The Middle East Media Research Institute, and MEMRI TV. Then, you might see what's really going on. Just remember to be open minded.
From Jeffers Dodge:
Todd, Read the Koran and compare the two ideologies. They both profess peace and harmony but only one of them says this can be achieved after all infidels are either converted or killed.
Apathy is a cancer.
Olah and Jeffers have provided interesting insights on the point of view ably expressed by Todd.
